Signing A Will

Witnesses

You must have 2 witnesses both over the age of 18 years.

A witness must not be a person who is a beneficiary named in your will or the husband or wife of a beneficiary, whether the beneficiary is specifically named or may simply be a member of a class of beneficiaries likely to receive a share of the estate. If a beneficiary or a spouse of a beneficiary, witnesses your signature, the beneficiary is automatically disentitled from receiving any benefit under your will. Although not as strict, it is preferable that an executor does not witness your will.
