Overseas Investment Advice

We can assist clients with applications to the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) and obtain approvals when necessary. We provide overseas investment advice for entities acquiring an interest in urban land to which the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act applies.

Acquisitions of commercial property by foreign interests should be submitted to the FIRB for approval prior to purchase unless the acquisition is exempt ie; land value less than $50 million and not vacant land, an accommodation facility, purchase by foreign government, nor a heritage listing.

We have a sound working knowledge of issues associated with the Integrated Planning Act 1997. We have an excellent working relationship with and ready access to appropriate consultants in this area.
